Structured Finance Foundation Announces Leslie Sack as Executive Director

Washington, D.C., September 11, 2019 – The Structured Finance Foundation, an affiliate of the Structured Finance Association (SFA), today announced Leslie Sack as Executive Director. Ms. Sack currently serves as SFA’s Head of Government Relations and is responsible for the management of the Structured Finance Coalition, and she will maintain both those roles.

“I’m thrilled to serve as Executive Director and continue the mission of the Structured Finance Foundation,” said Leslie Sack. “The Foundation plays a key role in increasing the access of underserved youth to educational opportunities and connecting scholarship winners to the significant network of the SFA membership. I’m honored to be involved.”

Established in 2016, the Structured Finance Foundation partners with Scholarship America and Mentor Foundation USA to develop and provide scholarship programs for young people engaged in the Mentor Foundation’s programs. Since its inception, the Structured Finance Foundation has awarded 29 students nearly $500,000 in scholarships.

Ms. Sack takes over the role of Executive Director from Sairah Burki, who was recently named Managing Director and Head of Policy at SFA. Ms. Burki was instrumental to the successful creation of the Foundation and has served as Executive Director since its establishment. Ms. Burki will maintain an active role in the Foundation as she transitions leadership to Ms. Sack.

“It has been an honor to have the opportunity to lead the important work of the Structured Finance Foundation over the past three years,” said Sairah Burki. “I’m incredibly proud of the impact the Foundation has had on the lives of scholarship recipients and am confident that Leslie will continue to grow the organization’s success.”

“Sairah’s work to help form the Foundation in 2016 and her leadership as Executive Director over the years has been invaluable,” said Gregg Silver, Chair of the Structured Finance Foundation Board of Trustees. “We’re incredibly grateful for her dedication and look forward to working with Leslie to continue to help ensure students are afforded the opportunity to seek higher education or training through the Foundation.”
